I Heart Faces Fun Workshop in Dallas at Southfork Ranch!

I attended my very first I Heart Faces conference just recently and I was totally inspired!  I was inspired to be better, to believe in my abilities, to change my perspective, to give back and not just in the area of Photography.  Being that I can even say Dallas and Southfork Ranch and I Heart Faces in the same sentence gives one the idea of just how incredible this I Heart Faces Conference really was.

In addition, Kelle Hampton of Enjoying the Small Things blog was the opening speaker.   She spoke about the art.  To just tell the story – your story. To maintain your vision and your passion and to not lose sight of your gift!  She talked about taking the effortless photo, the one where your child is unaware they are being photographed. She said to always remember why we do what we do and to always believe it your art!   And I had my picture taken with her!  WooHoo!!

Then, there were break out sessions for learning (of all levels) depending where you fell on the spectrum of a never ever to a self-confident skilled photographer looking for more.  Being that I am somewhere in the middle, I attended the Learning Your Camera with Angie Arthur, co-founder of IHF, blogger of The Arthur Clan and professional photographer of Angie Arthur Photography.   Angie spoke about thinking outside the box, to pay attention to light, to let them be themselves, to watch your surroundings, to choose your moments and change-up your perspective.  Not to mention I also had my picture taken with her.  Another Woo Hoo!

In addition, being that the conference was in Dallas, the home of the TV show Dallas circa 1978 at the Southfork Ranch, I was also inspired to tour the home.

{It is amazing with only tricks of the (film) cameras and mirrors, the set looked much larger on TV}.

Plus, the trip to Dallas and the Southfork Ranch is not complete until I see J.R. himself.

So, being inspired by great women doing what they love and a challenge to change-up the exposure settings on my camera, I was off to do just that.

And so while these next set of pictures were not taken at the I Heart Faces workshop, or even Dallas, I did put my new-found inspiration to the test while at the Pumpkin Patch in Ohio this past weekend.

And other than the non-typical October Dallas weather, I left for home with a head full of ideas and a whole lot of inspiration!!  Thank you I Heart Faces!!
