Hodgepodge Wednesday v.7

Woot Woot.  We are just marching right along this month and so it comes time for another Hodgepodge Wednesday.  {and I will admit this losing an hour has me completely off my game}

Here are this weeks questions:

1. Do you play games of luck/chance for money? Have you ever played bingo for money? Visited a casino? Placed a bet on a horse? Bought a lottery ticket?

Funny that I do not consider myself a gambler, however, I have bought a lottery ticket (ok power ball ticket) or two, I bet on a horse to win and put money on the table at the local Catholic Church festival all in hopes of making a quick buck from my winnings; though it hasn’t happened yet. And we just had a brand new Hollywood casino open in the area and I have absolutely zero interest in visiting. I work too hard for my money to (in my opinion) just throw it all away.

2. Will you be preparing and/or dining on the traditional Corned Beef and Cabbage meal this St. Patrick’s Day? Mashed-baked-hash browned-french fried…your favorite way to have potatoes?

I am very Irish (with many known distance relatives still living in Ireland) so I will be celebrating the day with family locally. However, I am not a big fan of corned beef, and thus will just be sticking to a pint of Guinness and maybe a green bagel.

3. What’s the last thing you felt ‘green with envy’ over?

Hmm, good question. I do believe that since we are all human that at one time or another, we have thought the grass is greener on the other side. That is, until we get to the other side. Over the years, I have learned to appreciate the things I do have and not the things I don’t so.

4. What’s at the end of your rainbow?

The end of my rainbow is retirement and considering I still have fourteen years of work left, I am still enjoying the rain and the sun. The end of my rainbow is somewhere sunny and warm and where there are more sunny and warm days than not. (And some gold in me pot too would be nice).

5. March 12th marks the anniversary of the death of Anne Frank (June 12, 1929-March, 1945). Anne’s diary detailing her time spent hiding from the Nazi’s during the war ranks as one of the best-selling books of all time. Besides your blog, do you keep any sort of diary or journal? Was this a habit you developed as a child or is journaling something new for you?

I do journal and have just recently (within the past several years) been more consistent.  My mind is always going with ideas for projects and blog posts and even pictures I want to snap so my journal has evolved more into a place to put all those random thoughts floating in my head.  It works for me.

6. What’s an item in your home or closet that contains every color of the rainbow?

About the most colorful item in my wardrobe are my socks and even that is not every color of the rainbow.

7. Write a limerick with you as the subject. You can do it!! Just remember this is a family friendly blog…don’t make me get out my wooden spoon.

I stink at writing poetry

No, I mean I really really stink at writing poetry

I wish I could

I wish I should

The bottom line is that I really stink at writing poetry.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Amazing at how fast the time goes by.  This Sunday me and my local extended family and friends will be celebrating St. Patrick’s Day together.  The day starts with a parade through downtown and then a big party with lots of entertainment.   I have been attending this function sponsored by the Shamrock Club since I was a small kiddo and have some great memories.

For some reason, many of the local bakerys make a green bagel. No flavor really just green. Glad you liked my limerick… I was really struggling! ~Sharon
