Hodgepodge Wednesday v.8

March is just chugging right along and today is not only the Spring Equinox, it is also time for another great installment of ….  Hodgepodge Wednesday!

So pull up the recliner and a glass of your favorite iced drink and enjoy.

1. March 20th is the first day of spring…is she a lion or a lamb in your part of the world?

I am in Central Ohio and sorry to say Mother Nature is making our first day of Spring in like a lion!  The high this morning is a mere 19 degrees.  (But we are not getting any snow and for that I will be thankful).

2. What’s the most dreaded task on your spring clean to-do list? Do you have a ‘plan of attack’?

I love Spring and spring cleaning!!  As a matter of fact I have already started.  I love those warmer days when I can open the windows and get the stink out.  However, the one part of spring cleaning that is a bittersweet is the sorting my growing kiddos clothes in the donate pile and the sell pile.  It is hard to believe that my kiddo is growing up way to fast.

3. Peas…love ’em or hate ’em? What’s a favorite dish you make using peas?

Love peas (love cans peas over frozen peas too), but when it comes to cooking, I make a great tuna noodle casserole and in this case, frozen peas work best.  Yumm.

4. Do you feel under appreciated?

Ah, such a loaded question.  I am a single mom to an almost eight year old son where he still thinks the world revolves around him …. Taxi driver, homework and chore enforcer, chef and entertainer to him … so of course he thinks such.  But I secretly know he loves his super cool, pretty, nice momma!

5. Have you been using Google Reader? If so, what are you switching to now that GR has announced retirement? If not, how do you read your favorite blogs?

No.  I think I joined to late to really understand the whole GR thing.

6. Anne Bradstreet is credited with the following quote~

“If we had no winter, the spring would not be so pleasant; if we did not sometimes taste of adversity, prosperity would not be so welcome.”

Agree or Disagree? Why?

Wholehearted agree.  I think to truly appreciate things we do have or want in life, we must have first had to experience things we don’t have.  Plus it keeps us grounded.

7. When did you last ‘spring for something’? What was it?

My Kindle Fire a few months ago. {My kiddo was tired of asking to borrow back his kindle that Santa brought him so I sprung for my own}.  Thanks Santa!

8. Insert your own random thought here

With Spring here, I am excited to start a new post series titled Spring Photos Series. Feeling that I am a weekend warrior with the camera, I have decided to start taking my camera to the office every day and walk the downtown sights looking, searching, and clicking.  Not only am I sure to increase the photography skills, hope to see the downtown differently.

Stay tuned!

There are only 2 seasons in Canada – winter and construction. Winter must be over because I saw 3 construction crews while I was out this morning. Look forward to seeing your pictures of your downtown

LOL. Sorry about the two seasons Judy. Although I bet outside the construction cones, the sights are beautiful. Hoping it warms up soon! ~Sharon
