Hodgepodge Wednesday v.9

Welcome back from Spring Break to this week’s Hodgepodge.  It has been great enjoying the warmer weather and reading up on the great questions for this week.

1. Share one fun thing you did last week, while the Hodgepodge was on ‘spring break’.

I actually took a day off to travel to Dayton Ohio to visit the National Museum of the US Air Force {post coming soon}.  It had been several years since I had last visited and neat to go back and see the Air Force One (from the Kennedy years).   The remainder of spring break, my kiddo was with his grandparents.

2. April 10th is National Sibling Day…do you have siblings, and if so are you close? Share a favorite story featuring one or all of your siblings. If you don’t have siblings, did you ever wish you did?

I am the oldest of three; I have two brothers.  Rather than bore you with all the wrestling moves and live snake pranks my younger brothers used to play on me, I would much prefer to mention the sister I always wanted. Guess that is never going to happen.

3. Is it important to you to ‘buy American’? Why or why not? How much of an effort do you make to ‘buy American’? If you’re not American, insert your own country in the blank.

The older I get, I realize the importance of buying and supporting American products.  While not everything I own is made in America, I will buy American made if at all possible.

4. Besides The Bible, what book has impacted your spirituality in some way?

Goosh, …There are probably several books I have read over the years, but one that stands out that really touched me was Heaven is for RealThis is a true story about a young boy who experienced Heaven.  His accounts about Heaven and the Father brought tears to my eyes.  This story has made my belief in God even that more powerful!

5. April showers bring May flowers or so the saying goes. Do you find rainy days calming or depressing? When were you last caught in a rainstorm? What’s blooming in your neck of the woods today?

It really depends.  Having too many rainy days can be a downer, but once in a while a good thunderstorm {including thunder and lightning} is just plain awesome!!

6. What’s your favorite yellow food?

Butter, corn, cheese, peppers, and pineapple!

7. April is National Poetry Month…what’s a poem that holds special meaning for you, and why is it special?

Not really a poem girl.

8. Insert your own random thought here.

Enjoying the warmer weather here in the Midwest.  Finally spring has arrived and looks to be staying as this weather is so energetic.    I cleaned off the deck, put mulch down and LOVE going to the local nursery and checking out all the flowers I will be planting soon. <deep happy sigh>

I’m behind reading this week, so trying to catch up. I was in DC for a couple days and it hit 98 degrees-crazy! It had snowed the week before. Spring doesn’t know what to do with itself.

The USAF museum is totally cool! I visited as a kid and have a few times as an adult. I took my nieces twice when they wee young.

After the early spring we had last year because it was so warm in Toledo, I’m antsy this year, but really the timing is right. My spring perennials look good so far.

Oh yeah, I forgot about pineapple! That is one of my favorites too.

  5. Judy

Hubby cleaned away some of the garden so that the crocuses can peek their heads out.
