During the summer in the Midwest, some days are raining and just blah. It is days like these, I spend in my sewing room. I found this pattern awhile back and while I didn’t have the fabric, I knew I wanted to make this quilt. I love this pattern of squares inside squares and the illusions the design would draw. I love the play of the different size squares and the lines. I dug through my stash to find just the right colors; I needed about a yard of each and found the perfect coordinating blues, greens and yellows. I thought the paisley pattern was the perfect added fabric.

The pattern, Off Centered Squares, by Fresh Lemon Quilts can be found here. It was a fun and easy Quilt and is probably a nice pattern for a beginner. The pattern was easy to follow and once I had all the pieces cut, I put on a good movie and started to sew. It was fun using my vision board along the way to get an idea of the final product.

I was able to complete the Quilt top in about a week of evening and then off to the Quilters. I can honestly say i was excited to get the quilt back from the Quilters. I especially love the quilting design with adds another layer of a linear design element to the already square pattern.
