During the winter months of social distancing and staying home, I would watch too many to mention You Tube videos. I discovered Lori Holt with Bee in My Bonnet. I love all her ideas for fabric stash, and her lovely sewing room. Her creativity is contagious.
One of her video tutorials was titled the Sew Your Stash Series #10 – Criss Cross Star Quilt Block. I loved all the freedom for fabric and color selections. I especially liked this star was free floated so my star points could be a little less than perfect but still look as beautiful. I began pulling our the scraps I wanted to use and set them aside. I even had enough background fabric in my stash as well.
Then, once I had my colors and fabrics cut, I created a few stars. I loved how they turned out! And they were so easy.
I actually would create a block while sewing another quilt; as Lori often talks about; sewing multiple blocks to chain piecing. Before I knew it, I had enough blocks for a nice lap quilt.
After sewing all the blocks together, it needed something else; I decided on a green border. I think it makes the quilt. Needless to say, I was excited to get it to the quilter. Once I received the call that my Scrappy Stars Quilt was ready to be picked up. YEA! I was excited to finish the Stars!
I must say, this is one of my favorites.
Sew on and Sharon the Moments. Happy Quilting.
