During the Christmas break, I took the opportunity to view the Photography exhibit by Annie Liebovitz at the Wexner Center for the Arts today. The exhibit only lasts through Sunday December 30th, 2012 so if you are thinking about it, you need to make time this weekend.
No photography is allowed, only open minds and inspirational moments.
I had not been very familiar with Ann’s work, but did know she largely photographed the greatest of great celebrities. With her career getting its start as a photojournalist for the Rolling Stones, she also photographed numerous presidential administrations from Bill and Hillary Clinton to George W Bush to Barack and Michelle Obama.
I enjoyed images of John Lennon, Wilt Chamberlain, Scarlett Johansson, Willie Nelson, Whoopie Goldberg and Martina Navratilova to name a few.
I enjoyed viewing and studying and scratching my head looking at her photographs. I also pondered and I wondered and I just plain studied each of her images.
And I relished in the fact that I recognized one of her cutting edge photographs from Vanity Fair 2008 was the tastefully shot of a very naked and pregnant Demi Moore.
The exhibit only set me back $8 and worth every cent. I walked through the gallery in about two hours but you could expect to take anywhere from ninety minutes to about four hours to view the entire exhibit as the crowd increases.
So be sure to get your liebovitz on. I left inspired … will you?
