When you are a kid, summer is a wonderful thing! And hitting the half way mark of the summer break is bittersweet. So when the 4th of July is here, it means not only is your summer break 1/2 over but also means you still have another half of summer break to enjoy …. so … Let’s get this party started!
This year, my kiddo and I (along with my parents and family friends) attended the Independence Day in Dublin, Ohio.
The 4th celebration included a lively atmosphere, yummy food, fun bounce houses and events for the younger folks, great music for everyone and a grand firework display immediately following the show.
This year, the music headliner was Earth, Wind & Fire!! And they packed the house!
Of course, prior to the show having a young kiddo with me, we had to visit the children’s play area. A wrist band was needed (cost of $5 per child), then we were off ….
to try our hand at throwing some ball …
and to pretend he was playing for big $$ on Wipeout …
and test his strength against the super bungee … (and this was hilarious I might add).
Then … it was time for the show. The house was on their feet, singing and cheering and grooving with Earth Wind & Fire …. and yes, even my kiddo was on his feet!
They played their hits like September, Shining Star, and Boogie Wonderland to name a few.
Following this show, seems nothing could top their performance. But the City of Dublin did just that with an awesome display of fireworks to please the crowd.
There were lots of ooh’s
and aww’s
and amazement
And of course there was the favorite night-time firework selfie …
and then … well it was over. But not without lasting memories with family and friends.
So we send out thanks to the City of Dublin …
and as Arnold would say .. We’ll be back!
