With Autumn coming to a close and all the vivid colors fading fast, I set out to capture the last bit of color this season as I also try my sights on thinking outside the box.
I visited a local Metro Park, Inniswood Garden to see what I could do to challenge myself … not just the fading color but the camera settings too.
Anyone that has tried new things, stepped out of their comfort zone, or pushed their limits knows it can be a scary thing. But you also know that with the possible chance of failure comes the probable chance of great success!
I looked for the not so ordinary in the ordinary. I looked at bridges and at leaves and at trees and at the sun and the lonely park benches like it was the first time I had ever seen each of them. I looked at the way the shadows played with the barren trees.
I looked for symmetry …
I looked for changing the way in which I see images that I see all the time during a leisurely walk in the park, but this time not sure if the image would pan out, I snapped away not afraid that the image might not turn out to be what I envisioned.
I looked for the presence of beauty where one might think it never existed.
Over all, my self engaged challenge to think outside the box, to push my limits and snap an image that I would normally pass up was a success. I am looking forward to the next photo shoot.
