Arrived Prior to Cruise Departure
Prior to our Cruise out of Port Canaveral, we arrived in the Cocoa area several days before our cruise was to depart. We wanted to sight see the area and needed a budget friendly and clean hotel. We landed with the Holiday Inn Express located in Cocoa, Florida. Located right off I-95 and just a short 40 minute drive from Orlando International Airport, we were very happy to have a room. While we were not in the downtown heart of Cocoa Beach, we were only a 10 – 15 minute drive. Being that we wanted a more budget friendly rate, selecting a hotel a little further from the Cocoa Beach area meant it was in our price range.
Close Proximity
Now only is this Holiday Inn Express close proximity to the cruise terminal, we were so close to other fun sights. We also enjoyed not being in the mist of all the traffic and felt a little more quite setting.
Driving Distance
Orlando International Airport – 36.5 miles {35 minutes}
Port Canaveral Cruise Terminal – 14.3 miles {20 minutes}
Kennedy Space Center Welcome Center – 18.2 miles {26 minutes}
Cocoa Beach – 14.5 miles {30 minutes}
Historical Cocoa Village Main Street – 5.1 miles {14 minutes}
Melbourne Beach – 28.6 miles {41 minutes}
Great Amenities
We enjoyed this hotel for our three night stay. The Holiday Inn Express has friendly staff, is clean and spacious, and has several amenities; including an outdoor pool and hot tub, laundry facilities, workout room, and continental breakfast with plenty to choose from. We just loved the open and bright comfy feeling.
Clean and Spacious Rooms
We also loved the proximity of all the favorite attractions while we exploded the Cocoa and surrounding areas. The room had 2 double beds and felt like enough room for four adults. Have the coffee maker in the room is also a nice feature along with the mini fridge. The room also had an iron and ironing board and a big closet for any extras.
Swimming Pool & Hot Tub
Being that we were in central Florida in June, an outdoor pool was a must. The pool area and hot tub was clean and spacious and the water was refreshing. However, a recent storm seemed to have ruined the shade canopy and left little in the way of shade until the cover could be replaces. We still loved swimming in the pool and relaxing in the hot tub.
When we were ready to check out, the process was simple and easy. We simply stopped by the desk and returned our keys and we were on our way. This property is certainly a must stop if you are looking for a clean, friendly, amenities and budget friendly Hotel when visiting the Cocoa Florida area.
