Quilt Shop Highlight …

During our recent visit in the Cocoa Beach Florida area, visiting a few quilt shops are always on the vacation agenda. With a easy Google search of nearby quilt shops, we found Quilts and Lace located in the Boardwalk Plaza on N Wickham Rd in Melbourne.

I loved how easy it was to find their shop, their store hours and parking next to the store front. We were greeted with friendly and helpful staff. We explained we are from out of town and wanted to look around. We enjoyed learning she too was originally from Ohio; we had lots to talk about besides just quilting. {A great part of the quilting community}.

I love that most all the Quilt Shops are so full of colors and inspiration the moment you walk in the door. There are always quilts hanging on the walls to give inspiration and ideas for your next quilting project. And as always, the staff are always willing to assist with finding the right fabric or help with whatever it is you are looking for.

Besides the Quilt Shop, their website has so much more for the quilter enthusiast. From classes, events and their newsletter, they are there to assist you in your quilting / sewing needs.

Living in the Midwest, I have learned that not all Quilt Shops are the same. Geographic locations tend to acquire and sell different fabric collections based on the climate of the shop and clientele. If looking for a more beach inspired fabric collection, you are more likely to find in a climate near tropical weather than the Midwest vs. the southwest fabric collections styles and colors for example. That is not to say that the well know designers and fabric distributors like Moda, Riley Blake, or Anna Maria do not ship their fabric lines all over the States but chance are if looking for fabric that is common in a geographical area, you are more likely to find fabrics, patterns and designers in certainly locations.

During our visit, I purchased a beautiful panel of tropical birds which will always be a reminder of our time in the Cocoa Beach and Melbourne Florida area.

Be sure to stop by Quilts and Lace Quilt Shop if you are in the Melbourne area for their staff to assist you with your quilting needs.
