For at least the past fifteen years (ok – that’s as far back as I remember), the Columbus Zoo and Aquarium has been decking the halls (and each tree, and every shrub, and everything around the pond, and all the animals (just joking on the last part) for the Holiday season. So, to keep with our annual family tradition, off we went for family’s annual trip in December. First up, the maps.
Now when I say lights, I’m not talking a few lights here and there, I’m talking thousands upon thousands of lights all around the Zoo grounds.
There were Polar bears ….
And Moose too …
It was beautiful to see all the lights, but really it just wouldn’t be a true holiday seasonal visit to the Columbus Zoo for Christmas if Santa wasn’t involved. So …. we made our way to where Mr. and Mrs. Claus like to call home.
And sure enough, they were home. We decided to go in, say hello, sit on Santa’s lap, tell him our wants and then end with frosting (and eating) a sugar cookie with Mrs.Claus.
Next up, a stroll through the zoo to check out more beautiful sights and these three crazy characters ….
and ….more lights.
Then we had made out way to the Polar Bear Frontier and came across the real life snow globe. The kids decided they wanted to go inside and check out the Eagle.
And so our annual Zoo Wildlights outing came to a close but not before a little fun from the boys.
P.S.
Because it was just so much fun. If you have the chance while in the Columbus area, be sure to check out the Columbus Zoo and their seasonal wildlights. You won’t be disappointed.
