The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium located in Delaware County, OH has always been a family favorite which houses The Grand Carousel. We love visiting the Lions, Tigers and Bears (oh my), but also ride on one of the wood carved horses. During on one of our recent visits to the Columbus Zoo & Aquarium, we rode on the Grand Carousel. It is easy to see the beauty of this Carousel in the wood horse carvings by the Marcus Illions Company manufactured in 1914. The Carousel first located at Olentangy Park in Clintonville, was then relocated to the Zoo in 1938. Since June 2000, the restored Carousel has been open for rides with the original 52 horses and 2 chariots.
To ride the Carouse, it will cost an additional free {roughly $2 a person}, and you will also need your paid admission into the Zoo. While there are so many fun and alive creatures to see and watch, be sure to check out and ride a horse (even a wood one) during your Columbus Zoo & Aquarium visit.
