Unplug Your Kids: Connect Your Family!
Does this sound familiar?
- Are your children always asking to play on their electronics?
- Do you check Social Media when first thing in the morning? Before you go to bed? While fixing dinner?
- Do your children barter for more time on their _____________ (DS, Tablet, phone, TV)?
- Do you find yourself saying “Just one more email” or “I am just going to finish this post”?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, then maybe … just maybe you and your family are willing to participant in the Unplug Your Kids: Connect Your family National Movement! {The initiative calls upon families in America to put down their mobile devices, turn off their TVs and put away their laptops and tablets for one night to sit around the kitchen table or family room playing their favorite board games in an attempt to re-engage the family in real conversation and nostalgic fun and the initiative is the brainchild of Norman Rosen, Carrom Co. Chairman of the Board.
Did you know that having regularly scheduled family night or family dinners can:
- Lead to more open discussions with your children
- Promote a greater sense of well-being and good health
- Lead to developing a stronger emotional bond with your children
- Promote better grades and school participation
So put down the tablet, turn off the television, shut down the games, close the laptop, and unplug the phone on October 16th, 2014.
