11.10.2023 || Favorite Photo Friday ™
Today is not just a day off from work for some, or the inconvenience of the post office and banks not open. Rather today is Veteran’s Day; a day which is a Federal Holiday to honor the Military Veterans of the United States Armed Forces. Veteran’s Day is different that Memorial Day in that Veteran’s Day commemorates the service of all U.S. Veterans; where Memorial Day honors those who have died while in military service.
In September, I attended the Quilts of Honor award ceremony in Wayne County, Ohio. It was a wonderful opportunity to witness local Veterans receive a Quilt of Honor hand made especially for each one of them. Triple Nickle {The 555th Honors Detachment}
While awaiting for the ceremony to begin, I met three Veterans that would be presenting the colors. They are members of the Triple Nickel.

Francis Buckley: Served in Army 1963-1966; where he jumped out of an Airplane.
Tom Loy: Served Coast Guard 1955-1957
The 555th is a totally independent Volunteer Veteran organization with no
connection with any Government Military organization!
Whether you know a Veteran, are a Veteran yourself or a family member is a Veteran; remember that today (Saturday 11.11.2023) is more than just a day off.
