After spending one day at the Magic Kingdom, we decided to visit EPCOT for our second day of our October Walt Disney World vacation.
I had heard many wonderful things about Epcot (not that it was bad before). It was always my understanding that Epcot was more for the adults. I remember visiting in high school with my family and thinking this is nice but not great. It was a place to walk around the world with no real thrill rides and get great photos with the giant golf ball …
Fast forward thirty years and boy have things changes. Today EPCOT is full of new adventures for all ages. My kiddo was having as much fun as me. {thanks Disney}
Not only was the Giant Golf Ball {a.k.a. Spaceship Earth} still the iconic structure of the park, but there are so many new and exciting rides as well. The Future World and the World Showcase certainly kept us (including my eight year old kiddo) very busy and quite entertained.
I will also admit we both LOVED the new Phineas and Ferb Agent Ps World Showcase Adventure. (more on that later.)
But for the first part of the day, we stayed in Future World. Our first stop was Mission Space …
There are two versions of the Space encounter and we opted for the more friendly (less green as in sick) version. I wasn’t sure what to expect but I was pleasantly surprised. I would expect nothing less from Disney ….
We lifted off and traveled to Mars with our assumed important roles in the flight and then headed back to Earth … mission complete!
Going in October, the park is not nearly as crowded as peak season and the fact we started our day early, we pretty much had the park to ourselves.
After awhile, we decided that we needed some java so we actually stopped for a Starbucks latte and giant cookie. Because it only fitting that after one returns from Mars, giant cookies and lattes are in order!
As we continued our stroll through the park, we stopped to watch the water dance. Some of the niceties of strolling through Epcot.
After spending the morning riding Test Track, Soarin, and other super rides in Future World, we headed toward World Showcase. I think we actually rode Test Track and Soarin’ a zillion times before lunch.
Next, we decided to head over the bridge to the World Showcase. We were very anxious to become the next secret agent with Perry the platypus.
Stay tuned for how we saved the Tri – State area from evil.
