Tonight, working on homework with my seven-year old kiddo (turning eight in a month) and discussing books he has to read somehow turns to him almost being a teenager …

Me: Here are the last three books from library you can choose from to read tonight (as I hold them up)

Kiddo: No way! those books are for babies.

Me: They are not because babies cannot read.

Kiddo: I will be so embarrassed reading those at school.

Me: Why?

Kiddo: because I’m almost ten and that is very very close to being a teenager.

Me: LOLOLOLOL!!
